FAQ

Your questions, my answers.

19 of the questions couples ask me most often before booking. If yours is not here, message me on WhatsApp — I reply quickly, in English.

Do you speak English?

Yes. I speak English, French, Arabic and Italian. Microphone announcements are made in English whenever guests come from abroad, and the whole preparation — brief, playlist, running order — can be done in English.

Your quote and our exchanges are in English too.

Which areas does DJ DRIM cover?

DJ DRIM works across the whole of Provence and the French Riviera (the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region). Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Vitrolles, Aubagne, Cassis and Salon-de-Provence are included in every package (50 km radius).

Toulon, Avignon, Arles, Nîmes: a modest travel supplement from the Premium package. Cannes, Nice, Monaco and rural Provence: included in the Prestige package. Further afield, on request.

How far in advance should we book?

For a Saturday between May and September, ideally 12 to 18 months ahead. For other dates, 6 to 9 months is usually enough.

Ask for a quote as soon as you have your date — it holds the slot for you for 30 days with no commitment, while we talk things through.

What are your packages and what do they include?

5 packages, from the simplest to the most complete:

  • DJ only — 8 hours (6 pm to 2 am), venue already equipped with sound and lighting
  • Essential — 8 hours (6 pm to 2 am), sound system and basic lighting
  • Signature — 9 hours (6 pm to 3 am), plus dry-ice cloud and cold-spark fountains
  • Premium — 9 hours (6 pm to 3 am), plus extended lighting, 8 cold-spark fountains and cold-spark rosette
  • Prestige — 9 hours (6 pm to 3 am), plus ceremony sound system, cocktail-hour sound system and coloured smoke rockets for the ceremony

How many guests can each package handle?

DJ only up to 80 guests, Essential up to 150, Signature up to 200, Premium up to 300, Prestige with no limit (tested with 500+ guests).

We scale the amount of equipment (subs, tops, moving-head lights) to the real size of the room.

Which musical cultures does DJ DRIM master?

Oriental cultures: Kabyle, raï, Moroccan, Tunisian, Egyptian, Lebanese, chaâbi.

French and international cultures: French pop, 80s/90s/2000s, RnB, hip-hop, US pop, electro, Latin, reggaeton.

Multilingual: French, Arabic, English, Italian — which makes life easier with guests from abroad and binational families.

Do you handle fully Oriental weddings?

It is one of our specialities. Grand entrance procession, henna, traditional dances, dowry ceremony, Kabyle/raï/Moroccan/Tunisian/Egyptian/Lebanese musical codes — all mastered.

Most of the weddings we have played since 2018 are mixed or fully Oriental. That is what sets us apart from most DJs in Marseille.

Do you do engagement parties, henna nights, birthdays?

Yes, all kinds of private events: engagement parties, henna nights, 30th/40th/50th birthdays, baby showers, corporate parties.

The service adapts to the duration — 4 to 5 hours is often enough, versus 8 to 10 hours for a wedding. Ask for a personalised estimate.

Do you do symbolic (non-religious) ceremonies?

Yes, it is included in the Prestige package and available as an option on the other packages.

Dedicated sound system, Shure wireless microphones for the celebrant and the witnesses, music timed to your running order. Outdoor or indoor wedding, it makes no difference: we adapt (a 50 m+ extension lead is always in the van).

Can you do pyrotechnics indoors?

Yes, only with category F1 effects (approved for indoor use, maximum safety).

In the catalogue: cold-spark fountains, dry-ice cloud, low-lying fog across the floor, cold-spark cascade, coloured smoke rockets for the ceremony, cold-spark rosette, cold-spark pistols, LED bazooka.

No outdoor fireworks display, however: no outdoor pyrotechnician licence. For that you need a specialist provider.

How does payment work when we are paying from abroad?

30% deposit when the contract is signed, by bank transfer (IBAN). Wero is a French/European instant-payment app; a standard SEPA transfer, or a service like Wise or Revolut, works just as well.

Balance due before the wedding day (two days before), by bank transfer — net prices, no card payments, no payment fees passed on to you.

Cancellation: how does it work?

Clear conditions set out in the contract:

  • > 90 days before the wedding: the deposit is refunded less an administrative fee set out in the contract.
  • 30 to 90 days: the deposit is not refunded.
  • < 30 days: 50% of the contracted total is due.
  • Force majeure on DJ DRIM's side (serious illness, accident): full refund and help finding a replacement through our professional network.
Do you have verifiable client reviews?

5/5 on Mariages.net (80+ verified reviews) and 5/5 on Google (50+ verified reviews).

Winner of the Mariages.net Wedding Awards 4 years running (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025). Links at the bottom of every page of the site.

  2. Reply within 24 working hours by email + WhatsApp
  3. Free preparation video call (15–30 min)
  4. Contract sent by email
  5. 30% deposit by bank transfer = your date is locked in
  6. Online brief to complete at your own pace
  7. Dedicated WhatsApp group opened 1 month before the event
  8. On the day: everything runs smoothly
How long before the wedding do you arrive to set up?

At least 1½ hours of set-up for the DJ only and Essential packages, up to 3 hours for Prestige (LED booth, moving-head lights, video projector, pyrotechnics).

We always coordinate with your planner or the venue manager so as not to get in the way of the other suppliers (caterer, photographer, florist).

Can we give you a playlist?

Of course! Once the deposit is paid, you get access to an online brief where you list:

  • The songs for your key moments (entrance, first dance, cake, parents' dance…)
  • Your absolute must-plays
  • Your "no-go" tracks (songs you do not want to hear, for personal reasons)

A dedicated WhatsApp group is also set up a month before, so you can send over the songs you fall in love with as they come to you.

Do you have an assistant on the day?

For the Premium and Prestige packages, an assistant can be present: wireless microphones, firing the pyrotechnics, technical supervision while I am in the booth.

Included in Prestige, optional on Premium. Not needed on the DJ only/Essential/Signature packages, where I handle everything myself.

What happens if something goes wrong (equipment failure, illness)?

The main equipment (sound system, microphones, mixer) is fully backed up for the Signature package and above.

In the event of a serious health issue, a trusted network of partner DJs can step in. The contract sets out the details. It is a professional's first rule: plan for the worst so that it never happens.

Can we see the equipment before signing?

There is no physical showroom, but the Equipment page of the site presents every piece of kit in detail: Electro-Voice EKX sound system, Pioneer REV-7 decks, 3,000-lumen video projector, F1 pyrotechnics, etc.

For a video-call demo, book a free 15-minute preparation call. A complete professional rig is committed to every wedding — it is worth talking about.
